Dniprobuzhsky port is about 14 miles from Mykolayiv, on the left bank of the Bug Estuary.
It was founded in 1978 by the Mykolayiv Alumina Plant. It is the only port in Ukraine specializing in unloading bauxites and handling coal and metal cargoes.

A deep-water harbor and special equipment are available for bauxite loading such as Krupp ship cranes with a capacity of 12 tons per hour.
The annual freight operation amounts to approximately 6 million tons.

12 tug boats are available at the port for auxiliary operations such as pilotage, mooring etc.
