Uzhgorod National University

Uzhgorod National University was founded in October 18,1945.

At present it has 14 departments:
- Department of History
- Department of Philology
- Department of Law
- Department of Roman and German Philology
- Department of Economics
- Department of Mathematics
- Department of Physics
- Department of Medicine
- Department of Biology
- Department of Chemistry
- Department of Engineering
- The Branch of International Relations Institute of Kiev National University named after T.Shevchenko
- Department of Physical education and sport

Teaching process is provided by more than 70 chairs. The specialists are trained in more than 33 specialities, the total number of students amounts to 10000. Uzhgord National University has also scientific departments.

Skilled scientific and pedagogic personnel is also prepared at the post-graduate courses of the University. At the University 5 specialized Scientific Boards are functioning. The University is staffed by 2000 members: professors and assistant professors - about 680; scientific workers - about 235.

Besides, the University desposes of the botanical gardens, zoological museum, scientific biological base,cryogenic station, publishing office.
