Lubensk Machine-Building Plant

In 2015 Lubensk Machine-Building Plant marked its 100-th anniversary. The glorious path of the enterprise progress starts from manufacturing simple lath and is continued today with manufacture of sofisticated automatic grinders with modern NC systems.
The name of the enterprise has been changed several times (Phenix, Communar, Shlifwerst) but reputation of a reliable and solid partner producing high-quality equipment has been unchanged all these years. The total number of machine-tools produced exceeds 100 thousand pieces. There are many machine-tools with Communar or Shlifwerst trade mark in all the continents of the world.

The enterprise history began in 1915 when the first world war broke up and the plant Phenix had to be relocated with all its facilities from western Volyn Region to eastern Poltava Region, Lubny, further off the battles. At first plant Phenix was a small pig iron foundry with a mechanical shop. Now JSC "Shlifwerst" is a modern machine building enterprise. It comprises of well-developed and highly equipped productive facilities:
- non-ferrous, ferrous metals and plastics casting;
- tools and accessories production;
- blacksmith and pressing production;
- metal welding;
- electrochemical plating;
- thermal treatment;
- mechanical metal working;
- wood working
- and metrological measurement.

These wide technological capacities of the enterprise are the decisive factor for cooperation with manufacturers of the machine-building products of various branches - from cooperative parts and units supply to joint venture in equipment production.
Availability of the necessary productive facilities in the enterprise structure is an important aspect of suvival in economy transit period since it permits rapid switching to new products without depending from suppliers. But economic crisis does not permit using the capacities to a full scale. That is why the enterprise invites all interested parties to business cooperation.

The main products of JSC "Shlifwerst" are circular grinding machine tools. Their production has been carried out since 1957. At present the manufacturing programme includes the following types of grinders:
- general purpose circular grinding machine-tools;
- productive circular grinding machine tools;
- crankshaft regrinding machine-tools in crankshaft mass production;
- crankshaft regrinding machine tools.

The range of general purpose machine tools produced by JSC "Shlifwerst" has been significally extended lately. Instead of machine-tools series 3U (models 3U131BM, 3U132BM, 3U133MB and others) a new series of machine-tools 3C has been introduced (models 3C110B, 3C130B, 3C133B and others).
A new modern design, efficiency, high accuracy, easy maintenance and wide capacities feature the latter models.

The range of circular grinding machines has 5 standard sizes of the machine tools: max. grinding diameter 100, 150, 250, 400 and 560 mm and grinding length from 250 to 3000 mm. The machine tools with 100, 125 and 250 mm grinding length are stock-produced while the machine tools with 400 and 560 mm grinding length are produced on Customer's special order.

The general purpose grinding machine tools are manufatured with different level of automation - from manually operated to modern machine-tools with NC systems.

The latest development of JSC "Shlifwerst" is machine tool model 3B130F2. The machine is intended for grinding parts having curved surfaces in longitudinal cross sections. It is equipped with Siemens NC system Sinumeric-810D type and can be re-equipped for grinding in transversal cross section. Model 3B130F3 is a basic one and there could be produced other types on its basis.
The major part of JSC "Shlifwerst" machinery programme are crankshaft regrinding machine tools. The company offers the crankshaft regrinding machine tools for grinding both cranks and pins. It is hardly one can find any motor building plant on the territory of the former USSR which has not a crankshaft regrinding machine tool of JSC "Shlifwerst" production in its machinery park.

The productive circular grinding machines are intended for grinding the workpieces with diameter more than 400 mm and length up to 4000 mm and weight up to 1000 kg like rollers for hot rolling mills, different shafts, etc.

On custom's special order and after agreeing on technical specifications the plain grinding machine tools, internal grinding machine tools, multistone grinding machine tools ( simultenious grinding of the several surfaces) face grinding machine tools, and other special machine tools can be produced by JSC "Shlifwerst".

Lubny machine tool plant JSC "Shlifwerst" works successfully on mutually beneficial basis with JSC "Motor Sich", JSC "Rybinsk Motors", JSC Zavolzhsk Motor Plant", JSC "Dneprospetsstal", JSC Anzheromash" and many other companies in deliveries of the new machines, overhauling, repair and modernization of various indigenous and foreign equipment.
