Ten years ago, on April 4, 1995 at the meeting the decision about foundation of Zaporozhye Chamber of Commerce and Industry was made.
By this time the organization possessed the huge experience of development: beginning with formation of the State Trading Intermediary Office and the Bureau of Commodity Examinations (in 1940) and development of company "Zaporozhvneshservice " (since1989 to 1995) which, actually, carried out functions of chamber of commerce and industry.

Being a public organization, Zaporozhye CCI operates according to the main external economic problem of the state - entry of Ukraine, as equal in rights member, into the world economic system. At the same time its work was always based on the ideas common to the chambers of many countries - representation of interests of entrepreneurs in various authorities, development of rules of trade relations and business conducting.

For the moment of ZCCI formation, except for 59 enterprises - actual members of CCI of Ukraine, 17 companies that wished to begin or expand their external economic activity used the consulting services of "Zaporozhvneshservice".

The system of the actual membership itself began to develop in 1964 when Zaporozhye Bureau of Examinations was transferred to submission to the All-Union Chamber of Commerce. We are very proud of the enterprises that became pioneers in this field: JSC "Zaporozhogneupor", JSC "Zaporozhtransformator", JSC "Zaporozhye Manufacturing Aluminium Plant", JSC "Zaporozhye Integrated Iron and Steel Works "Zaporozhstal", JSC "Electrometallurgical Works "Dneprospetsstal", JSC "Zaporozhye Meat Plant", JSC "Zaporozhye Oil and Fat Plant". All these years they remained a firm, reliable part of membership base of ZCCI, which is constantly replenishing with the new organizations, objectively reflecting tendencies of the regional economy.

Today the Chamber consists of already more than 500 actual members. Among them the large enterprises that form the basis of economic power of our region and also representatives of young enough medium-sized and small business, intensively developing direction of the regional economy.

We face problems of adaptation of the whole economic-social system of the region and the country as a whole to already existing international standards. I hope, that combined efforts of all ZCCI members and experts of the Chamber will allow to find new ways of economic development of our region, to lead it out to the higher quality level. Not in vain many years we are united by the motto: " Through cooperation - to prosperity! ".
