HISTORY
In 1969 the Research Designed and Technological Institute of Power Electronic was founded on the basis of Special Designed bureau. From the beginning of 1971 the Institute became the main organization in development of semi-conductor converters. In 1979 it was reformed into AH-Union Research Institute of Power Electronic «Peretvorjuvach».
Since 1997 the Institute became joint-stock company «Ukrainian Research Institute of Power Electronic «Peretvorjuvach».
DIRECTIONS OF WORK
- development of power semi-conductor converters and complete devices on their basis with given exploitation conditions for different branches of economy;
- engineering accompaniment of industrial production, installation and starting of the products;
- delivery and installation of object-oriented electric devices on the basis of semi-conductor converters with microprocess control;
- coordination of development and using of new power semi-conductor devices at Ukrainian enterprises;
- joint development and production of power thyristor sources for DC arc furnaces;
- creation and production of static reactive thyristor power compensators for 6, 10, 35, 110 kV electric networks.
APPLICATION PROFILE
- development and supply of modern power semi-conductor converters to the industrial units order;
- production of research models and research series of new semi-conductor converters;
- project design and carrying out of energy consumption measures aimed on energy saving.
R&D
Research of electrical energy conversion, physical processes in converters and power semi-conductor devices, in electrical and energy systems on the working and mathematical models.
Development of power electronic as an effective method of energy saving, creation of progressive technologies.
The research and design results are discussed and estimated by the Science council of the Institute. Besides, different aspects of specialists' research are published in science editions.
APPLICATION AND R&D RESULTS
There have been developed and applied in industry different series of electrical energy converters for all branches of economy: metallurgy, power engineering, transport, municipal economy.
More than 1000 types of AC/DC power converter with power from unity to tens of thousands of kW are successfully run in all economy branches of Ukraine and CIS countries, in India, China, Pakistan, Algeria, Argentina, Cuba, Nigeria, Egypt and other countries of the World.
