SHREDDED KAOLIN is clay of white or grey tinged with colors, consisting of kaolinite with small quantity of quartz and other impurity. It is divided into four grades on a chemical structure and refractoriness. It is applied as raw material for refractory production, manufactured by plant, stoneware and earthenware, sanitaryware, cement industry.

MILLED KAOLIN is a powder with determined humidity and pass through a grid 1 more than 95 %. It is made in shaft mill. It applies as plasticity and binding additive by manufacture of a chamotte mortar and concrete spraying refractory powder, as adjusting add-on at manufacturing of sanitaryware, porcelain and cement, as stabilizing filler to a rubber, paper, gluing, paints, varnishes, enamels, putties, etc.

BULK CHAMOTTE is a refractory material, consisting of alumina and silica, distinguished by uniform temperature expansion. It is made by a calcination of a kaolin in rotary kilns at temperature of mullite formation. It is applied together with refractory clay or other binding for manufacturing of aluminosilicate refractories, powders and fillers.

SHREDDED CHAMOTTE is a chamotte of certain chemical and granulometric structure. It is made by a way of chamotte dispersion in fractions. It is applied for concrete products, mixes, ceramic masses, antiburn covers and others.

CONCRETE SPRAYING REFRACTORY POWDER is a chamotte-clay powder. It is produced on the basis of chamotte filler of certain fractions and milled dried kaolin by mixing them in a strict proportion. It is applied together with liquid-glass or other binding for concrete spraying of working surfaces steel ladle and high-temperature zones of thermal units.

CHAMOTTE MORTAR is a milled in tube mill mix of determined quantities of chamotte, binding and plastifying additives. It is applied as refractory mortar to linkage aluminium-silicate moulded products in refractory brickwork.

CHAMOTTE FOR CASTING is chamotte filler of narrow grain structure received by special technology. It is used in high-technology manufactures of machine-building and aerospace complex. It is intended for casting on sucelted models.

CHAMOTTE POWDER is a chamotte milled in ball mill. It is used for production of anti-burn paint for steel casting, mortars, masses, covers.

The history of our enterprise began in 1961 with the construction of a quarry for secondary kaolin mining. Kombinat is situated in the centre of Ukraine on the kaolin province of Ukrainian Shield. Kombinat has deposits of about 1 billion tons of secondary kaolin suitable for aluminosilicate refractory production.

The enterprise includes 2 quarries, chamotte calcination shop and non-production departments (motor transportation, repair etc.). The annual capacity of quarries is 1 000 000 tons of kaolin; of the chamotte calcination shop is 480 000 tons. The chamotte is calcined in 2 rotating kilns 75 m length * d 3,6 m. The third rotating kiln 75 m * d 3,6 m was removed from production and a new technological scheme of preparation of secondary kaolin to firing was mounted on its base. It will allow to produce chamotte with new, improved, internationally-recognized technical characteristics. The natural gas is used as combustible, it has allowed us to exclude contamination of chamotte from combustion products and to achieve a low level of dangerous exhaust emission. There are facilities for grounding and sieving of chamotte of various sizes and production of ground materials (plastic refractories – gunning mass, mortar, ground dry kaolin). The company has possibilities of increasing capacities.

In 1996 the Kombinat was privatised. At present 100 % of its shares have been sold to various companies and private persons.

Having received independence our company has begun an active work in the foreign market, first of all European. In this field we closely co-operate with our strategic partner and one of the shareholders - company AGS (Clerac, France). Together with AGS experts Kombinat modernize the technological process of production of high-quality chamotte, make technical modernisation of JSC "VKV" and promote chamotte of Vatutino Kombinat to the international market on the base of long-term experience of AGS commercial network. The work on the market extension, increase of sales of Kombinat products in the countries of Central and Western Europe and promoting of Kombinat products to the markets of Middle East, India, Australia, etc.

Kombinat successfully works in the modern market and guarantees high quality of production constantly perfecting technology and introducing the appropriate equipment. At present production is delivered to more than 40 companies of 16 countries of Europe. The deliveries are realized from the ports of the Black sea by sea transport, from the ports of Izmail and Reni by river barges along the Danube and further along the Rhine, by railway transport to all countries bordering on Ukraine and, also, by motor transport. The Kombinat has possibility to send production in bulk and packed in big bags or in 50-kg sacks on pallets of 1 T.

The equipment of quality control laboratory of Kombinat is being improved. The work on introduction of ISO 9002 is over.
