The Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and Industry according to the law is a non-governmental, non-profit and self-governing organization incorporating on a voluntary basis legal entities and Ukrainian citizens registered as entrepreneurs as well as their associations.
Over 3,000 enterprises and companies of different forms of property, business associations, banks and other bodies are now members of the Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
The main chamber objective is to facilitate development of the national economy, its integration into the world economic system, establishing today's industrial, financial and commercial infrastructure, creating favorable conditions for the national business environment, all-round development of any kind of legitimate business activities, to support scientific and technological and trade relations between Ukrainian and foreign businessmen.
The Ukrainian CCI carries out its tasks either alone or through the regional chambers of commerce and industry operating in all Ukrainian provinces (oblasts) and in the Autonomous Republic of the Crimea, which are incorporated and whose activities are coordinated by the Ukrainian CCI as well as through companies and other institutions established by the Ukrainian Chamber.
Today the chambers provide its members with a broad range of its professional services, including consultations on foreign trade and market conditions, independent inspection of foreign trade goods, declaration of foreign trade shipments (on agreement with customs authorities), patent and licensing and bar-code services. The chambers provide the Ukrainian and foreign customers with economic and legal information, circulate commercial and other offers of business cooperation by Ukrainian companies abroad and by foreign companies in Ukraine, organizes seminars, conferences, exhibitions in Ukraine and abroad, etc.
The Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and regional chambers are entrusted to certify origin of Ukrainian goods and issue certificates of origin being compulsory documents in executing exportation of goods.
The Chamber certifies unforeseen circumstances as well as merchant and port customs.
The Ukrainian CCI keeps a non-government register of Ukrainian companies whose financial standing proves their sustainability as business partners in Ukraine and abroad. Certificates issued by the Chamber to such companies testify to reliability of Ukrainian companies before their foreign counterparts.
The Ukrainian CCI houses an International Commercial Arbitration Court that has won worldwide recognition.
The Chamber maintains sectoral business committees which carry out independent analysis of bills on the development of international economic relations and other issues of business activity in the country to submit their suggestions on behalf of the Ukrainian CCI and its member companies to the national government for consideration.
The Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and Industry is a member of the Black Sea Economic Co-Operation Business Council, the Association of the Central European Initiative Chambers of Commerce and the Association of the Black Sea Zone Chambers of Commerce and Industry.
The Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and Industry co-operates with the Association of the European Chambers of Commerce and Industry (Eurochambers) and maintains partnership contacts on an agreement basis with chambers of commerce and other partner organizations in over 50 countries.
To facilitate international economic relations the Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and Industry establishes mixed chambers of commerce and business councils. The Ukrainian-Polish Chamber of Commerce, the Turkish-Ukrainian, Italian-Ukrainian, Bulgarian-Ukrainian, Iranian-Ukrainian and Indian-Ukrainian Business Councils have been set up. The Ukrainian-Italian Service Center providing business information exchange between Ukrainian and Italian small and medium enterprises has been established with the assistance of Italian chambers of commerce and other organizations. A Ukrainian-German Chamber Partnership Project is being carried out with the purpose to rise professional efficiency of the Ukrainian CCI as well as that of the Zaporizhia and Lviv regional chambers of commerce and industry.
The Ukrainian CCI has its representatives in Brazil, Germany, Hungary, on Cyprus, in Finland.
