Kiev Silk Combine, Closed Joint-Stock Company

Kiev Silk Combine was founded 1946 on the base of cotton weaving mill destroyed during the World War II.

The combine is the only enterprise in Ukraine specialized in manufacturing pure silk fabrics. Pure silk is one of the most ancient textile raw material. At all times pure sill fabrics were of great value. In Greece and in Rome of the first century A.D. the price of silk was equal to the price of gold because of its consumer properties: lightness, elegance, durability, high hygroscopic property, good drapability, distinctive luster and others.

The combine includes weaving and ink finishing shops. The enterprise is equipped with high efficient technological facilities produced by CIS and other foreign manufacturers.

At present time the enterprise produces pure silks of uniform dyeing, prints of plain and fancy weaving with surface density 35-91 g/cm2. The fabrics comply with the requirements of the modern fashion and were repeatedly marked with prizes and medals at prestigious international shows.

Annual renewal of the fabrics in drawings is 80-90% providing extremely high consumer properties.

The pure silks made by the CJSC Kiev Silk Combine are designed both for festive and everyday business attires.

The combine cooperates with clothing manufacturers, trading organizations of Ukraine having various forms of management.
