The history of the Tavrian casting company "TALKO" began in April 1997. It was then that the production commercial enterprise "Liteyshchik" was created by like-minded persons and enthusiasts of their business. It was decided to situate the production base in the urban village of Novovasilevka, Priazovskiy district, Zaporozhskaya region.
At first we had to work 20 hours a day. Such devotion to work and purposefulness soon brought the first fruits. The first fusion was carried out in the aluminum casting shop #1 already in July 1997.
In the summer of 1998 the aluminum casting shop #2 was put into operation, which made it possible to increase considerably the quantum of production output and extend its product range.
Among the products of the enterprise there are such castings as gear-type pump cases, disk brake cramps, pistons for automobiles, motorcycles, tractors, steering control housings, clutch cases for engines SMD, castings of responsible destination, cases for manual electric tools.
Aluminum castings are produced by high-pressure casting, and as well by chill mould casting using mechanized universal chill mould machines.
Producing castings involves mainly secondary aluminum alloys. It is possible to use any alloy on customer's request.
Metals are melted in combustion furnaces, metals are finished according to their chemical composition, fining and modificating treatment of melt using universal flux is done in a furnace-mixer of the type of SAN.
While pouring, metals are distributed from batchers of special design.
Cores for castings are made using both hot box, and coldly hardening sand.
Different modes of thermal treatment are used to set the prescribed properties for castings.
Basic parts are tested for leak-proofness, and if necessary, are impregnated with soluble-glass mixture on a special plant that makes it possible to vacuumize castings before soaking and create overpressure for optimal filling pores and discontinuity flaws with a soaking mixture.
The chemical composition is controlled without fail in our own accredited laboratory.
Finished castings are checked on dimensional accuracy.
The productive capacities of the company can produce over 7000 tons of aluminum castings per year.
Four years of fruitful work aimed at intensive development of the company made it possible to create on the basis of the casting capacities of the production commercial enterprise "Liteyshchik" the limited company "Tavrian casting company TALKO".
In August 2002 the steel investment casting shop was put into operation. The planned production capacity of the shop is 240 tons of castings per year. While producing steels, it is possible to use their different types: structural carbon steels (for example: 25Л, 30Л, 40Л), weakly alloyed steels (40ХЛ), heat-resistant steels (40Х9С2Л).
Using the method of investment casting, it is possible to make castings weighing from several grammes up to several kilos with very high accuracy of dimensions and surface finish.
Today "TALKO" is an active enterprise with modern methods of doing business in the field of casting production.
Thanks to effective selecting the personnel, introducing programmes of raising the level of their skill, participating in seminars and other actions, the company has top-level specialists. The following generation of young casters is trained in the best educational establishments of the country with the help of the enterprise. The strategy of the company is aimed at conquering new segments of the national and foreign market in the branch of casting production.

Owing to enlarging and modernizing the machinery, purchasing a modern processing center, we can offer our partners castings with their subsequent mechanic finishing. In spite of the fact that we mastered the production of the parts a short time ago, they have already been highly estimated by customers. In 2002 the company developed the production of two finished units: brake caliper 968M-3501042/43, which is a component part of the brake device of the front wheel in cars of the "Tavria" family, and water-oil heat exchanger 31-11c2A being a part of the lubrication system of the Diesel SMD-31, which is used in combine-harvesters "Don-1500". Both of the articles are responsible units. That is why the requirements to their quality are respective. For example, the articles are tested for leak-proofness under surplus pressure, and the heat exchanger after assembling is tested on stands.
We can clearly see prospects of further development of our company, and in their light we pose us certain problems. So till the end of 2002 we are going to introduce and certify at the company a system of quality management that will correspond to the requirements of the international standard ISO 9001:2000. The company is also planning in the nearest future to develop the production of machining attachments (moulds, metal moulds, devices), which will allow us to react more flexibly and on-the-fly to needs of the market.
