OJSC "Kamyanets-Podilskyi Plant "Electron" was founded in 1963. Before 1991 the enterprise had been placed under the Ministry of Radio-Electronics Industry of the USSR and was specialized in production of outer memory devices working on removable magnetic discs for PC-series EC. All units for memory devices had been manufactured at the plant itself.
