Cherkassy Medical Academy

Cherkasy Medical Academy founded in 1930 is a leader among medical educational establishments of Ukraine of I-II levels of accreditation. From the first days it highly rose the level of quality of study and education, and today the college belongs to those establishments which managed to keep best traditions of the national school of preparation of medical specialists, at the same time providing them with modern educational and medical technologies. For 75 years the collective of this establishment prepared over 28 000 medical and pharmaceutical specialists which are competitive not only in Ukraine but also in Italy, Portugal, USA and Canada.
Today the college provides two-grade system of preparation of medical and pharmaceutical specialists by seven directions. It is especially much done for development of nurse business. The college one of the first has started to prepare nurses with higher education. Since 2006 the pharmaceutical specialists began to get base higher education there. Cherkassy Medical Academy is a base for Vatutyno branch and Uman Medical College. The close cooperation connects the collective of this establishment with O.O. Bogomolets National Medical University, Ukrainian Medical Stomatological Academy (Poltava), P.L. Shupyk National Medical Academy of Post-Graduate Study, regional and local sanitary and epidemiological stations, local and regional hospitals, Association «Pharmacia». The cooperation with Canada started within Program «Partners in the health protection» lasts.
The college has the proper conditions for study: re-equipped academic building of stomatology of orthopaedic and laboratory diagnostics and opened modern pharmaceutical complex. The achievements of research center of medical-biological problems of the college are important and include, in particular, new dietary food stuff «Lactobion» that became the winner of VIth International Exhibition «Taste-2002» in Kyiv. The high-professional collective of the college (more than 100 lecturers, including 15 candidates of sciences) is headed by Inna Ya. Gubenko, Candidate of Medical Sciences, Deserved Doctor of Ukraine, Associate Professor of the department of family medicine in P. L. Shupyk National Headmaster - Inna Ya. Gubenko
