The main task of the Institute is scientific research and design search work for science and technical provision for natural gas transportation, storage and supply.

The Institute for Gas Transportation operates in accordance with the law of Ukraine “On licensing of certain business operations” No.1775-III dated 1 June 2000, on the basis of license copy of State Committee of Ukraine for construction and architecture, AB series, No.512104 dated 26 Jan 2010, license copy of State service for geodesy, cartography and cadastre, AB series No.547500 dated 3 Aug 2010 for topographic, geodesic and cartographic operations, permit for outset of works of high hazard of State Committee of Ukraine for industrial and labour safety and mine supervision No.1375.08.32-74.20.1 dated 20 Nov 2008.

The Institute for Gas Transportation protects intellectual property of Ukrtransgas AC. Measures to protect objects of intellectual property are taken in accordance with the demands of international and inter-country documents.
