Law firm MBLS was established in 1996 in Mariupol, a large industrial and port city in the south of Ukraine, on the coast of the Sea of Azov. The initial name of the firm was "Maritime Business and Legal Services".

Our firm was one of the first in the country to start provision of legal services in the field of maritime law and international trade. The founders of the firm were experienced professionals with good knowledge of the field due to their work in relevant state authorities and companies. Presently, one of the founders of the firm, Liudmila Mashchenko, is a managing partner of MBLS.

Responding to our clients' needs, our firm had developed an extensive, sometimes unique practice in disputes related to shipping, agency services, international trade, investments in real estate development, and banking services.

Whereas MBLS started its work in association with one of the leading British law firms Lawrence Graham our firm has acquired and implemented international standards of quality of legal services. As of now, all partners have experience of working or training in international law firms.

Our clients are shipping and other companies from the USA, Great Britain, Greece, Switzerland, Korea, Liberia and other countries.

In 2009, in order to provide a broader scope of services to our clients, our firm opened a branch in Kiev, the place of location of all central and highest bodies of the state power in Ukraine, as well as the offices of the foreign states and organizations.

In 2010, with the new partners' generation joining the firm, it was decided to expand the practice of legal assistance to local and international business and investors. Simultaneously, the short name of the firm - MBLS' - was accepted as the basic one for easier communication with the clients and to reflect the energy of the new team as well.

MBLS works in close contact with the leading law companies of the Great Britain, Italy, Greece, Turkey, and Russia.

The main principle of the firm's work is to provide result-oriented, qualified services within a reasonable time and with account to the client's particular needs.

MBLS provides legal services in Ukrainian, English, and Russian. Where needed, we involve translators for a prompt processing of documents in other widespread languages of the word.
