The Kharkov enterprise "Kharkovmetal - 1" Inc. originates from 1926. Within this time the company became the biggest supplier of rolled metal in the region. Situated on the territory of 5 ha in the centre of the city, equipped by convenient railway and automobile access the company provides wholesaling and retail realization of rolled metal and steel tubes.

Owing to flexible business model which offers a wide variety of economic cooperation to the partners the enterprise carries a remarkable athority with works - manufacturers of metal products. There are almost 10 major metallurgical and tube rolling mills among the direct suppliers, such as "Krivorozhstal", Donezk metallurgical and metal rolling mills, Mariupol integrated metal and steel Ilyich-works, "Interpipe" Corporation etc.

The main purchasers of "Kharkovmetal - 1" Inc. are major factories, construction groups and companies, companies of the agrotechnical complex, state enterprises of power and transport industries, science-industrial enterprises, leading institutes of Kharkov, Sumy and other regions of Ukraine. Owing to persevering work in the region it was managed to found a leading structure, which is able to solve complex tasks of metal supply, a structure which has necessar material, financial and active sources at its disposal.

The enterprise always increases the variety of products in order to meet the requirements of clients as much as possible. The presence of railway, bridge and gantry cranes of different carrying capacity, well equipped store facilities and territories with cutting sections allows a fast processing of big quantity of row materials.

The enterprise has big metal store facilities. It is possible to store up to 15 000 t of metal in the storehouses of the enterprise and to load up to 7 carriages of rolled metal at the same time. The "Kharkovmetal - 1" Inc. is engaged not only in metal supply but also in manufacturing of highqualified products. For this purpose it was purchased modern equipment, according capacities. Nowadays the clients have a possibility to place an order for a metal article of any complexity basing on their own design.

The enterprise inaugurated a department store "Agrotekhnik" where there are sold rolled and drawn stock and attendant articles, construction inventory, paint materials, engines and spare parts.

The work group of the "Kharkovmetal - 1" Inc. presented by the chairman of the company Mr. Adonin was awarded with the Golden Medal "Independence of Ukraine" of the first degree in the nomination "Well organized work of the collective and the authority of the director as the pledge of stability of the enterprise", moreover on May 2003 the enterprise became a laureate of the rating "The best enterprises of Ukraine" in the nomination "Ferrous and non-ferrous metals and wares from it".
