The principal fields of research of the Institute of Water Problems and Land Reclamation NAAN are:

-status, securing and rational usage of water resources by sectors of national economy and population;

-manifestations of the harmful water effects and development of systems for protection of agricultural lands and settlements areas;

- estimation of Ukraine's agriculture potential, definition of kinds and amounts of agricultural meliorations usage for agricultural production dependency reducing from weather conditions in time of global climate changes;

- development of technologies and equipment for irrigation, sewerage and protection from harmful effects of water, regulation and managment of water resources
