- Theory of nonlinear boundary value problems, constructive and geometrical function theory, theory of random processes.
- Dynamics of rigid body, control theory , mining mechanics elasticity theory.
- Simulation, identification and recognition of control systems

Applied directions:
- Automation and control of starting regimes of power units.
- Control of such technological processes as metal heating in rolling manufacture, coal carbonization, and continuous casting of liquid metal.
- Verification, simulation and diagnostics of digital systems.
- Methods of preventing ejections of coal, gas and other substances.

The following systems are presented at the exhibition:

OCASM subsystem for real-time monitoring and control of starting procedure of supercritical pressure power unit.
OCASM subsystem controls the consumption of starting fuel, load and exhausting from the built-in separators in order to observe the technological limits, and also records the sequence of starting procedure to the log file. The results of monitoring are displayed at the operator's consoles in the control room as the sequential tables. The poster represents the display screen of boiler operator's workstation. The data displayed include the control parameters on fuel consumption, power unit loading and exhaust flow.

The complex of mathematical models, algorithms and programs for operative valuation and control of such technological processes as metal heating in rolling manufacture, coal carbonization, and continuous casting of liquid metal.
The complex is intended to be used within control systems for technological processes of thermal treatment and aimed at decreasing the fuel rate and increasing the quality of finished products.

The program system designed to simulate the motion of systems of rigid bodies and joined deformable elements.
The software package is developed in two versions. The first is intended for educational purposes and used for studying theoretical and analytical mechanics. The package has broad graphic capacities and tools of motion visualization. The second version is meant for engineering tasks and allows to obtain equations of complex large-size structures and simulate control processes of spacecraft orientation and stabilization.

Multivalued simulation of discrete systems
The software system developed performs the following functions: verification, failure simulation and test generation for modern discrete systems. It is based on the multi-purpose system of multivalued alphabets and functions used to simulate operable and damaged discrete systems and generate tests.
