Public Joint-Stock Company "Ukrainian Research, Design and Technological Transformer Institute " (OJSC "VIT") is the parent organization on the matters of scientific and technological support in the field of transformer making and high-voltage apparatus of the State committee for industrial policy with the Ministry of Economics of Ukraine.
Field of activity:
- power transformers and autotransformers for all a.c. voltage classes up to and including 1150 kV and ± 750 kV for d.c. transmission lines (oil-immersed, with noncombustible liquid and gas filling) for general and special purposes;
- electrical reactors for different purposes including shunt reactors for voltages up to 750 kV;
- unit transformer substations and switchgears for 6 - 10,35 kV;
- high-voltage disconnectors;
- on-load tap-changing devices for voltage up to 330 kV and currents up to and including 2500 A;
- instrument transformers for all voltage classes up to and including 1150 kV;
- special technological equipment for magnetic core, winding and insulation production, as well as for repair and mounting of transformers and high-voltage apparatus;
- cooling devices for transformer equipment;
- high-voltage bushings for voltage up to 330 kV for power transformers;
- devices for testing power and instrument transformers in service;
- analysis of manufacture and operation experience;
The Institute laboratory and experimental complex includes: development shop, large and small high-voltage laboratories, stands for electromagnetic, thermal, climatic, mechanical and other types of testing transformers and apparatus, separate units of constructions, electrical and structural materials. The Institute occupies 53.000 m2 in total, including the areas of laboratories - 18.000 m2. The Institute has access roads for motor- and railway transport, which allow to dispatch and receive bulky cargo up to 600 tons by weight.
OJSC "VIT" has skilled specialists, design technology, modern computing technique and software. Specialists of the institute can work out technical documentation in the volume of working, technical or preliminary designs with regard to Manufacturer's technological feasibilities and render designer's supervision both over manufacture and test of the following types of transformer equipment:
- general-purpose and station service transformers for voltage classes 6-35 kV, rated at 25-63000 kVA;
- transformers and autotransformers for voltage classes 110-1150 kV;
- special-purpose transformers (furnace, converter, phase-regulating, phase-shifting, booster, high-frequency, impulse, traction, deep-sea, etc.);
- fire-and- explosion-proof transformers gas-filled ones (SF6) included;
- test transformers;
- transformers and reactors for DC transmission lines and DC links in alternating current transmission lines;
- current-limiting reactors for connection to transformers neutral and to the line;
- smoothing reactors for DC electric drives;
- shunt reactors;
- reactors for static reactive-power compensators;
- general-purpose and special dry-type transformers for voltage classes 6-15 kV.
- unit transformer substations (UTS) for 6-10/0.4 kV rated at up to 630 kVA;
- UTS for 35/0.4 kV, up to 1600 kVA for electrification of railway transport, objects of melioration, wind power stations, etc.;
- substations for 35/10 kV rated at up to 10000 kVA;
- units of outdoor switchgears (OSG) for 110-150 kV for 110/35/10 kV and 110/10 kV substations;
- unit switchgears (USG) for 0.4-35 kV both with stationary apparatus and of a sliding type;
- on-load tap-changers (OLTC), including thyristor ones with increased service life for electron and converter transformers, and no-load (NLTC) tap-changers for transformers;
- high-voltage disconnectors;
- working standards of high alternating and constant voltages;
- instrument current and potential transformers (operating and standard) with oil-paper and SF6-gas insulation;
- high-voltage hermetically-sealed transformer bushings up to 330 kV voltage class inclusive, without oil excessive pressure and gas cushion;
- high-voltage gas-filled capacitors;
- small-size gas-filled test transformers with their own external insulation and without it (built-in);
- small-size gas-filled stationary mobile plants (laboratories) for electrical equipment insulation testing with short-term power frequency high voltage;
- small-size gas-filled stationary and mobile plants (laboratories) for determination of potential-and-current transformers errors;
- high-voltage bushings "air-SF6" for tests.
EXPERIMENTAL PRODUCTION
Production facilities of the Institute allow to manufacture, update and repair:
- scale models, models, production prototypes and prototype models of transformer equipment;
- oil-immersed and dry-type power transformers up to 200 t in mass;
- instrument oil-immersed, SF6-insulated and epoxy-resin insulated current and potential transformers for 6-1150 kV;
- oil-immersed and dry-type reactors;
- unit transformer substations and switchgears for 0.4-35 kV;
- on-load tap-changers for transformers of 35-330 kV voltage classes, including thyristor ones with increase service life for electron transformers;
- technological equipment, accessories and tools for mechanization and automation of all transformer manufacturing processes;
- high-voltage bushings for 110-330 kV voltage classes;
- gas-filled high-voltage bushings "air- SF6" for tests;
- gas-filled high-voltage capacitors;
- test transformers and plants.
The Institute facilities allow to carry out:
- investigations of home and foreign transformer oils, as well as efficient granulated and fine-grained synthetic and natural adsorbents for oil and liquids recovery;
- investigations and tests of cellulose and synthetic electric insulating papers, boards, films, polymeric materials;
- working out procedures for manufacture and repair of transformer equipment and high-voltage bushings;
- development of special technological equipment for manufacture, mounting and maintenance of transformers and other electrical products, including:
- machines for manufacture of transformer windings and bushings cores;
- expanding mandrels for applying windings;
- devices for windings axial and radial pressing in the process of their applying;
- stands for magnetic cores assembly equipped with a device for magnetic core legs pressing and banding;
- plants for drying and filling under vacuum;
- vacuum degassing plants for treating, preparing and filling the transformer oils into transformers and bushings;
- transformer oil recovery plant;
- stands for mounting and dismounting, etc.
Special technological equipment manufactured to the Institute developments is delivered to the enterprises of electric and power engineering in Ukraine, Russia, China on a regular basis.
CERTIFICATION AND METROLOGY
Under OSC "VIT" there are founded the Body on certification "VIT-SEPRO", which exercises certification of transformer and high-voltage equipment authenticity in Ukraine, and Certification test center (CTC). The Body and the test center were accredited to the National system of products certification UkrSEPRO in 1995 (certificate of the Body accreditation No.UA 4.001.043 of 5.11.98 and that of the Center No.UA 6.001.H.334 of 5.11.98) in a wide range of products type AIM.
