The Company is located 6 km away from the center of Sumy, surrounded with the forests and the arable lands. The main site covers 226 ha.

Profile
Production of commercial sulphuric acid , sulphuric acid for reagents, oleum, phosphoric acid, phosphate fertilizers, white and coloured pigments, coagulants, chemical salts and consumer goods.

History
The company was founded in 1954, when the sulphuric acid and superphosphate units were put into operation. Within 45 years the company has intensively built and implemented new capacities as well as upgraded existing ones. For the first time in the USSR our company began the production of the following chemicals: Sulphuric Acid based on DC and DA technology, Titanium Dioxide, coloured mineral pigments, animal feed phosphates, MAP based on the technology of combined drying and granulation, SSP ammoniated in granules, Sodium Pyrosulphite and others. Sumykhimprom was and remains the biggest manufacturer of fertilizers, pigments, feed phosphates and coagulants in CIS.

Sales
Before 1992 the sales were made only for USSR market. Since the time Sumykhimprom, the first of the Ukrainian chemical companies, has began to export its products to the foreign countries. Now our products are exported to the countries such as Poland , the Czech Republic, the Slovak Republic, Hungary, Bulgaria, Germany, Spain, Italy, UK, Iran and South Korea. Our company is constantly searching for ways to expand its sales, and it is always open to any form of cooperation.

Development
Considering the specific conditions of the Ukranian agriculture Sumykhimprom executed and executes the arrangements to reduce the production costs at the expense of power consumption reduction. For this purpose the flexible technologies in fertilizers production have been implemented. For instance, the MAP plant can produce DAP and Ammonium Sulphate and SSP plant is able to produce N:P:K and DSP now.
The company along with the specialists of Research and Design Insitutes, created on the base of the company, have produced the Company’s Development Program by 2010. The own and loan capitals are supposed to be used to implement this Program.
This Program compises 13 projects of various priorities. Today the most important projects are determined, and the company started to work with these projects.
A number of the projects is to create the new products and to treat the wastes of production. The company is in progress of negotiations with foreign companies and performs the technical and research work.

Environmental Protection
Environmental protection has been one of the major concerns of our company throughout its history. Old units have been closed , and new ones built using the non-polluting and low-polluting technologies. The dynamics of environmental influence for the period of 1990-1999 is charectirised by the following:
- emissions are decreased by 4.2 times;
- effluents are decreased by 3.3 times;
- fresh water consumption is decreased by 2.8 times.
The fertilizers, coagulants, iron sulphate for cement industry and other products are produced from the wastes of production.
