Bohodukhiv Bread-Making Plant was set up in 1943 during the World War II on the place of the ruined old bakery. The plant building was one of the first buildings in the town constructed anew after the liberation of Bohodukhiv from the German fascists. As soon as the construction had been finished, bread baking started in a handicraft way – in adjusted ovens which were bricked by the hands of folk craftsmen. All the processes were carried out by hand. At that time, the daily output was a little bit over 3 tons with the only sort of bread being baked in moulds. So it went on till 1952, when the specialized industrial ovens FTL-2 replaced the old ones. The new ovens made it possible to produce a more diversified product range. In 1962, the third FTL-2 oven was put into operation after which the daily output of the plant amounted to 42 tons of bakery products. That allowed to completely satisfy the demand of the population of the town and the district.

In 1966, the plant reconstruction took place: a flow line for production of petty bakery products was created; the turner PO-1, the dough divider RMK-1, a transporter, a rounder and the rolling machine KhTV-1 were installed. Machines which replaced manual labor appeared in the process of production of bakery products.

Further on, a number or organizational and technical measures were taken in the company targeted at the improvement and diversification of the range of bakery products produced.

From 1943 to the early 1990s, the plant was the major supplier of bakery products to the population and the state establishments (schools, hospitals, pre-school institutions, military units) of Bohodukhiv and the Bohodukhiv District. Its activity was completely regulated by the conditions and the requirements of the planned business management.

In 1996, owing to the changes in the Ukrainian economy, the state- enterprise “Bohodukhiv Bread-Making Plant” was one of the first bread-makers in the Kharkiv region to be privatized and it is now known as the Open Joint-Stock Company “Bohodukhiv Bread-Making Plant”. This event was of significant importance for the plant, because before the privatization, the enterprise was part of the state-owned company “KharkivKhlib” and did not have the status of a legal entity. The privatization allowed to establish the legal independence of the enterprise, made it possible to freely manage the profits and created the prerequisites and incentives ensuring the increase of the company profits and the welfare of its employees.

The main company’s activity is the production of bakery and confectionery products for their subsequent sale directly to the population, wholesale buyers and state-owned organizations. Besides the production of bread and confectionery products, the Open Joint Stock Company “Bohodukhiv Bread-Making Plant” also trades through its own retail outlet chain, comprising 3 shops.

Taking into account the production potential and the availability of experienced specialists, the company is capable of quickly shifting to the production of new products if there is a demand for them.

Welcome to cooperation!
