The institute is involved in both developing and promoting the computer-aided control systems for the thermal and nuclear power stations, having due regard to the latest advances in microelectronics.
Equipped with the KRICA control systems are over fifty 200/300/800 MW thermal power units and the power units at the nuclear power stations with VVER-440/1000 water-moderated reactors.
The institute's projects have been widely used for power stations in Russia, Czech Republic, Bulgaria and China.
The development of IVS and UVS as a part of ASUTP of under-construction energyblocks of Khmelnitskaya and Rovenskaya AES is conducting now, as well modernization of the analogous system at the acting energyblocks of Zaporozhskaya AES and KharTEZ-5 (Uktaine), and Balakovskaya AES (Russia).
The institute selects hardware, develops algorithmic description and software for computer-aided control systems and puts them into industrial use. Some projects are carried out in cooperation with foreign partners such as KEMA of the Netherlands (300 MW Unit Control System for Zaporizhia Thermal Power Station) and the Swedish-Danish consortium (Computerised Control of Zmiiv Thermal Power Station).
