Torgperspektyva LLC (OJSC Kupyansk Foundry) was designed and constructed to be one of the largest among the former Soviet Union enterprises manufacturing castings from grey and high-duty cast iron, carbon and alloyed steel for diesel and gasoline engines and agricultural machinery.

The foundry is a leader in the production of the most complicated castings from high duty cast iron. The achieved production capacity was 294,000 tonnes of castings per year.

A team of highly-skilled foundrymen and engineers has been formed at the enterprise. There are 4 large foundry workshops specializing in the manufacture of different kinds of castings; pattern-making shop producing tooling and carrying out preparation for the manufacture of castings of any complexity. Auxiliary and machining shops allow the Foundry to service the production equipment, to assemble and disassemble the equipment and to produce non-standard equipment.

The Foundry is situated in proximity to the largest industrial and economic regions: such as the Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhya and Donetsk Regions; these regions have a well-developed network of roads and railroads and the advantageous location of the enterprise enables it to transport its products to the seaports of the Azov and Black Seas.

Free production capacities, skilled personnel and free man-power resources, the favourable location near the suppliers of the main raw materials and consumers of the products, developed infrastructure of the district – all these factors allow to use your investments with the most efficiency for your business and the welfare of Ukraine.

To raise investment efficiency and to diminish unforeseen risks in case of changes in state approaches to the regulation of ownership during privatization and possible reorganisation, sanation, bankruptcy of enterprises invested, JSC Kupyansk Foundry has detached one of its units – iron-making shop №. 1 – to establish Kupyansk Iron Foundry (“KChLZ”), Ltd on its basis.

Establishers of “KChLZ” Ltd are:
1. PbJSC ‘KLZ” – 49% of the authorized capital stock of “KChLZ” Ltd is under privatisation,
25% of shares are state-owned, the rest are distributed by subscription and through auctions and tenders.
2. Private Joint-Stock Company “Ukrainian Industrial Energy Company” – 51% in the authorized capital of “KChLZ” Ltd, shareholders are private persons, state share is 0%.

“KChLZ” Ltd. does not bear responsibility for liabilities of the founders, which makes it more attractive for investing.

Overview

At the present time the Kupyansk Foundry is transformed into a public joint-stock company that is one of the largest specialized enterprises manufacturing castings from gray and high duty cast iron, heat resistant and carbon steel, alloys for automobile, tractor and agricultural machine building. Predominantly it is casting with special technological properties for obtaining parts of the engine and car transmission.

At the Kupyansk Foundry, an engineering center under the Academy of Ukraine has been organized to conduct research and to develop new technologies of foundry production. The center employs highly qualified staff and is equipped with the necessary laboratory and scientific research facilities.

The management of the enterprise tries to re-arrange the structural departments: a number of subsidiaries have been founded and two self-supporting departments are exercising their activities on its premises. The specialists of the enterprise implement a rigorous marketing policy. The enterprise takes an active part in various commercial exhibitions and fairs, advertises its products and production facilities.

Production specification

The enterprise has all the necessary facilities and tooling to manufacture more than 3000 kinds of castings. The most sophisticated and characteristic are: cylinder heads, engine cranecases and transmission cases, inlet- and outlet engine manifolds, other cast parts of engines, transmission and parts of agricultural machines, turbocompressor cast parts for diesel engines, hydraulic distributor cases for hydraulic systems of agricultural and engineering tools.

Apart from the main products the enterprise has developed, the manufacture of consumer goods: stove casting, garden-and-park casting, casting of sports instruments, electric stove cookers, sanitary and sewerage equipment.

Many companies from Western and Central Europe, America and Asia have submitted to the enterprise a lot of offers for supply of cast parts and finished products (brake disks for passenger cars, manholes, grates and other facilities for water and sewerage systems etc.) for the last five years.

The main reason that hampers the development of exports is a high cost price for casting and production and rigid terms of delivery schedule. Investment, reconstruction and repair of the equipment, introduction of the advanced technologies, production organization under new legal and economic forms will enable the Kupyansk Foundry to manufacture competitive products on the Ukrainian and foreign markets and restore its leading position on the market of cast parts.

At the enterprise the system of quality control, the manufacturing processes control system and the complince system have been adopted. The staff of the Department on Control and Metrology, which is independent of production and being placed under direct command of Board Chairman of the Kupyansk Public Joint Stock Company, does all the controlling.

The in-coming verification of auxiliary raw materials and assembling parts is carried out on their arrival to the warehouse premises and upon their distribution off the warehouse to the production shops.

Technical production facilities:

Kupyansk Foundry as a specialized enterprise is rigged with the equipment of such companies as “KUNKEL WAGNER” “GISAG” etc., known in Germany, Bulgaria, France, the Netherlands.

A complex of ancillary production (transport, repairworks, the production of energy and that of manufacture of moulding tooling and warehouse household) has been organized to ensure adequate running of the foundry shops.

Generally production facilities are estimated to produce 309,8 thousand tons of castings per year.

Overall area of the enterprise constitutes 1664 thousand m2, production area – 453,4 thousand m2.

An innovation project has been developed for the technical reequipment of the enterprise.

The idea of the project – creation of modern foundry production complying with the world’s standards which incorporates in itself progressive technologies on all main sections of the technological process and which will become a scientific and technological basis for the development of foundry production in Ukraine.
