Zymohirya Brick-Making Plant, Close Joint-Stock Company is a collectively owned company with 251 shareholders, who are both current and former plant employees.

The balance cost of the fixed assets amounts to UAH 3330 thousand as of January 1, 2000, including the cost of the housing stock, which makes UAH 653 thousand.

The plant principally deals with producing GOST 7484-78 ceramic face bricks, GOST 530-80 house brand bricks and GOST 8426-75 ceramic bricks for smoke chimneys. Bricks are produced with two types of face coloring - beige and red.

The bricks produced at the plant are used for the construction of dwelling premises and industrial objects in Lviv, Odesa, Poltava, Dnipropetrovsk, Luhansk, Kherson Oblasts (Ukraine) in Rostov Oblast, Krasnodar Region, Ingushetia (Russia).

To increase the output of face bricks, to improve their quality and to reduce the cost value of the produced bricks it is necessary that the existing plant production facilities be technically modified. This technical modification presupposes dismantling of the old equipment and installation of a new energy saving tunnel kiln, replacing the old molding section equipment as well as the overall repairs of the drying section. The energy sources are the most fund-consuming cost value constituent of the process of production of ceramic bricks. Constructed and installed using impulse igniters and automating the burn-off process, this kiln will make it possible to cut down on gas consumption. The cost of such a kiln, designed by Trust «Koksokhimteplomontage» is UAH 1.4 million. Together with the gas economizing problem, the issues regarding the external appearance of products and the technological expenditures on the burn-off process will be thus resolved.

The eventual improvement of the aesthetic appearance of the products as well as widening of the product range by launching the production of architectural bricks make the goals to be attained through the replacement of the molding section equipment. The approximate cost of replacement of the molding stage equipment will amount to UAH 60 thousand.

The preparation section, being actually rather energy-consuming, plays a considerable role in the whole production process. With its reconstruction being underway, the plant is striving to reduce the energy-consumption rates. The completion of the reconstruction requires UAH 60 thousand.

An important part in making the first class quality bricks belongs to the raw materials used in the course of their production. The plant uses the shale excavated from the plant’s on-balance pit. The annual provision of raw materials making 12 – 15 thousand tons requires UAH 75 thousand per annum.

To ensure the fail-safe operation of the plant on the whole it is necessary that the following measures, affecting the progress of the production process, be taken, such as repairs of the roof and the boiler-room, routine repairs of the equipment, purchasing of trolleys and drying frames. The overall cost of this work makes UAH 407.000.
