Zaporizhzhya National Technical University

Rector is a Doctor of technical sciences, Professor Belikov Sergiy Borisovich.

The University trains specialists on the following 10 faculties of the full-time and distant (extramural) forms of education: Machine Building, Transport, Physical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Information Technology and Computers, Economics and Management, the Humanities, Distant Education, and Post-Diploma Education.

The Preparatory Faculty provides preparation of the future entrants for entering and further studying at the University.

21 of 43 departments of the University turn out specialists on the 31 majors of the machine building, metallurgical, radio- and electromechanical, economical and computer fields. There is also Military department that trains officers-reservists simultaneously with the full-time studies.

The high level of training is reached owing to the application of the advanced methods of teaching: problem lectures, business games, manufacturing situations, projection and video equipment, computer-equipped halls on the basis of personal computers. With the aim of realization of new data computer technologies in the training process and scientific research an information-computer network was created on the basis of modern technical and programming aids.

More than 9 000 students are studying at the University at the same time including
5 800 full-time students.

670 lecturers carry out educational process, 460 of whom have Scientific Degrees and Academic Ranks, including 47 Professors, Doctors of Science, 24 Full Members and Corresponding Members of the National Academy of Ukraine and its branches, 11 Honored Workers of science and engineering, Honored Workers of education, State-prize winners.

The University maintains business, scientific and cultural relations with the educational establishments and organizations of Great Britain, Bulgaria, Germany, Poland, China, France, Russia; it trains specialists for the countries of Asia, Africa, and Latin America.

The University includes the Tokmak Mechanical College as its part.
