Antonov Aeronautical Scientific/Technical Complex was founded in 1946 by the eminent aircraft designer Oleg Antonov.
More than one hundred types and modifications of aircraft of various classes and purposes have been designed since the date of the company’s foundation.
Antonov company is engaged in designing and building new prototype aircraft and modifications of earlier designs, providing their operational support and follow-on, engineering work on the aircraft service life extension, offers basic and conversion training of flight and maintenance crews, international air transportation of cargoes, including oversized ones, on charter basis. It sends high-skilled specialists to render assistance in mastering the aircraft and training local personnel, participates in the international cooperation in the field of aircraft and equipment design and manufacture, develops land transit vehicles.
Powerful engineering and research potential of the Antonov company makes it possible to introduce computer-aided techniques in design and analysis; to carry out wind tunnel testing of aircraft models; to subject all aircraft types to structural tests and to determine their service lives; to complete the aircraft deve-lopment cycle with flight testing; to prove the aircraft compliance with airworthiness requirements and customer specifications.
On December 30, 1992, the Interstate Aviation Committee Aviation Register (IAC AR) issued a certificate No. P-2 to Antonov ASTC granting authorisation to develop civil aviation aircraft.
