State Enterprise "National Nuclear Energy Generating Company "ENERGOATOM" established in October 1996, comprises all five Ukrainian NPPs: Zaporizhzhya NPP, Rivne NPP, Chornobyl NPP, Khmelnytsky NPP, South-Ukrainian NPP.

The company is entrusted with the following functions: operation of NPPs, upgrading of the power units in operation aimed at the reliability and safety improvement, supply of the nuclear power plants with fresh fuel, establishing national infrastructure of the spent nuclear fuel management, construction of new facilities,maintaining physical protection of nuclear power objects, solving social problems of the NPPs staff, etc.
